CLICKABLE COWBOY

While working at Houston Chronicle Interactive, I was asked to create a fun interactive piece for the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo. I came up with the idea of the “Clickable Cowboy” that allowed website users to click & learn more about the parts of his cowboy outfit.

Working with an Advertising Agency in Houston, TX, I was asked to do a series of illustrations for a “Halloween Box of Puns” promotion. I decided to use three different illustration techniques on the individual pieces. The final illustrations were done in watercolor, scratchboard, and acrylic.

HALLOWEEN BOX OF PUNS

Over the holiday break I decided to conduct an illustration experiment using MidJourney AI. I wanted to see if I could come up with an AI process that would generate consistent character designs in my very own illustration style. The end result was such a success that I decided to print a 2024 Wall Calendar for family & friends.

HOUSTON CHRONICLE

While working at the Houston Chronicle, I was able to show off my illustration skills. Assignments included working on various “Special Sections” that were inserted into the Sunday paper. The cover illustrations for the Houston Home Show & Holiday Gift Guide both won Addy Awards. The Gift Guide illustrations were created using a polymer modeling clay called Sculpey.

BAYOU BASH

I created a series of illustrations for the Bayou Bash & Taste of Louisiana. This included the cover illustration of the booklet, inside pages, and an event map. The drawings featured a variety of Cajun Creatures to bring out the spirit of the event.
